First Quarter Exam

"Small World " PLOT         It probably was a small house, but size throws off a child.        It certainly seemed ample then. There were three bedrooms, which we called blue, green and aircon. My mother sent most of us to piano lessons, soon enough a piano took its place in our living room.  We went to a music studio in northeast Greenhills, a short walk from the Greenhills shopping center.        San Juan seemed pretty much the whole city then, because even my relatives were there. On M. Paterno Street, adjacent to Ledesma, lived Tito Pepito with my father’s parents.      Ledesma Street was a short one, and quiet. Our house was unassuming, with walls of modest height and a green gate.        It was 1984n when we transferred. I was fifteen and finishing my second year in high school. When we were about to leave, we felt the excitement of moving to a new house, a bigger one, in...

Personal Memoir

Into the Durian Capital           We were visiting Davao again which we always do every Christmas break.      I puked!       I felt like everything I ate just got out of my system! The ride felt like that of a roller coaster. It was quite long and the vehicle we were riding in was not helping. I didn’t know what was causing the bad feeling, either the smell of the air-conditioner or the space that was preoccupied by a lot. I saw how exhausted and dizzy my cousins were as well. Some already looked like who were gone from a cat fight because of their messy hair. And I felt jealous on those who were just acting too cool, banging their heads while listening to the loud stereo being played on. I didn’t understand why they seemed fine with everything while I was struggling and almost on the verge of giving up and just wishing to go back to our house and just sleep until the bad feeling fades away.      Davao has a...

One of the reason, because there...

Not All Peoms Sing  by. Merlie Alunan Analysis First of all, for my own analysis about the poem of “NOT ALL POEMS SING” is about expression and feelings of a person. Is not easy to make a poem without any experiences and knowledge about the things in this world. Sometimes it became a true story based on the author.  This poem is a very interesting to all of us, it because our life is full of darkness and light. We are seeking light through our hopes and dreams, maybe our happiness, our goal and achievements in life. We faced darkness, because we are living this sinful world. We faced trials and problems but later on it became our hopes and to start to begin our life again. Our life is a like a Gold, it is precious and it is very essential in the eyes of God. Sometimes our life became a stone or a rock, it because of anger, bad sights and loosing hope. We are human being and we have to remember that our life is like a poem. The poem has a free verse structure, written in a narr...

The Witch

Activity 1  ANALYSIS:  First of all, my analysis from the sample work given is somehow very interesting and it is very essential statement. Why? Because it is about stranger and ghost. Based on the story that I had read, considering that the person behind the scene is a young boy. In our daily life as a human being and as we put this in the real situation, when we faced darkness and as we go the place that very far, we are thinking about witch and different strange. Sometimes, we able to judge the person who are living that simple house and simple clothes. In fact, we don’t know the outcome of that person.   SUMMARY:  The stories say a witch known as Minggay Awok which means witch in Visayan lives near the creek dividing the Libas and Sinit-an neighborhoods. The inhabitants were frightened by their unusual presence, lonely life, and occasional visits to the barrios. Whenever strange things happen, she has always been blamed. Minggay was therefore also exposed to...
